Golfing Finale

Even as the Ryder Cup historically overran to a fourth day, Medic 1 dispatched a team to another prestigious golfing tournament: the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

Up in Scotland - where surprisingly, whilst still a little wet and overcast, the weather was far better than in Newport! - the team was split across three beautiful sites as contestants played the courses at Carnoustie, Kingsbarn and culminated in play at St Andrews.

Lee Westwood narrowly missed out on gaining enough points to overtake Tiger Woods as the world premier golf player, but still played excellently and, as usual, played to the crowds.  He was joined, albeit less competitively, by numerous celebrities including world film superstar, Samuel L Jackson, and BBC Radio 2 legend Chris Evans.

The fireworks on the penultimate day served to highlight the gravitas of the competition - it's standing as one of the highest calibre golf tournaments in the world.  People travelled from miles away to be at the event, which, though smaller in scale than the Ryder Cup was every bit as exciting and fulfilling for the crowds.

Medic 1 would like to thank the players, spectators and organisers for the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship - it was a fantastic event, as usual, and we look forward to next time.
