Awareness of Elder Abuse Training
Who is looking after Granny?
Elder abuse
A damming report by the Equality & Human Rights Commission released today, has revealed that many of our senior citizens are at risk of ELDER ABUSE.
The report quite rightly highlights some of the more extreme cases. Such as the elderly, frail person being “cared” for in her own home, by care workers employed by the local authority. She was forced to go to the kitchen and prepare her own food.
Abuse takes many forms, including: actual physical abuse, mental/emotional abuse (neglect) to financial abuse.
It is widely acknowledged that many cases of elder abuse can be prevented and detected early if care providers have the right skills and knowledge.
Here a Medic 1 we are committed to providing the best possible patient/client care, by offering extensive training for our staff.
Through our training department we can also assist your staff to make the same commitment by offering a range of training courses including, AWARENESS OF ELDER ABUSE. This is a one day course that looks at both deliberate and “accidental” acts of abuse and how it can be prevented.
For more information about this or any of our courses please contact us.
Let's all work together to make sure that "Granny" is safe whoever is looking after her.
