First Aid at Work Re-qualification

The purpose of the First Aid at Work re-qualification course is to renew an about to expire First Aid at Work certificate. The First Aid at Work re-qualification covers all topics on the First Aid at Work course to ensure that you are still competent and confident in delivering first aid.

Who would benefit from the course?

You must currently hold a valid First Aid at Work certificate to be eligible to attend this course. There is a 28 day grace period after the certificate expires. In this time you are still able to attend the re-qualification course, however if left after this 28 day period you would have to attend a complete three day First Aid at Work.

Format & duration

This course requires a minimum of 12 hours learning contact between tutor and students. This is usually achieved over a two day period; however it can be covered over a longer period of time, not exceeding six weeks.

During the course your Medic 1 trainer will provide you with a first aid book and a resuscitation face mask as well as the opportunity to purchase additional first aid kits. There is an assessment on the First Aid at Work re-qualification course this will take place on the afternoon of the second day.The Medic 1 trainer will have extended knowledge in all areas being taught and will bring personal experiences to the class. The class will be split into both practical sessions (scenario and role-play) and theory sessions.

Assessment

There is an assessment on the First Aid at Work re-qualification course this will take place on the afternoon of the second day. This will consist of a practical scenarios as well as multiple choice questions. A pass mark in both is required to pass the course.

Certification

The course ensures that you are first aid compliant and on completion of the course you will be issued both traditional First Aid at Work certificate as well as a plastic card certificate. Certification will be valid for a period of three years, it is recommended you attend an annual refresher course to maintain your skills. More information on the annual refresher can be found here.

During the course Medic 1 will provide light refreshments. If you are travelling away from home to attend our courses we can book accommodation on your behalf. This would incur additional costs and can be arranged within a range of budgets
