Who would benefit from the course?
HSE guidance states that everyone who is employed, self-employed, sub contracted and who could be harmed needs to know how to work safely and without risks to health. This applies to every kind of workplace. Employers must provide clear instructions, information and adequate training in a format that is easy to understand and so that all employees know what they are expected to do.
The course is both theoretical and practical and includes:
Accident prevention, investigation and reporting
Communication and enviroment
COSHH and PPE
Manual handling and DSE
Format & duration
Our 1 day course provides an understanding of legal responsibilities, accident prevention and an overview of some of the key areas of workplace health and safety. Ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
There is no formal assessment for the course, however you will be continually assessed throughout the course by your Medic 1 trainer.
Certification is valid for three years. Before the expire of the certificate we recommend that you attend another Health and Safety course to keep you qualification up to date.

CPD & getting practice
Medic 1 offer additional bite sized on line modules that allow you to test and maintain your knowledge. It may be possible to offer successful students the opportunity of paid work with our experienced ambulance staff. If this is something you may be interested in, please ask your tutor at the end of the course.
