Privacy policy

Updated 25 October 2026

This notice explains how Medic 1 uses personal information collected through medic1.co.uk. It is written for a UK audience and sits alongside our cookie policy. It needs to be signed off by Medic 1’s data protection lead before it is treated as the final notice.

Who we are

The data controller is Medic 1 Direct Ltd, company number 07249199, registered in England and Wales. The registered office is Parc Bryn Cefni, Llangefni, Anglesey, Wales, LL77 7JA.

Medic 1 provides private ambulance transport, event medical cover and training from Units 3 and 4, Pen yr Orsedd Industrial Estate, Llangefni, LL77 7AW. That working address is not the registered office. For questions about your information, email contact@medic1.co.uk or call 01248 848337. The Care Quality Commission publishes its own location record, linked from this site, under the name shown on that record.

What we collect

Contact form: your name, email address, phone number, the subject you choose, and your message. The contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA to reduce spam.

Private ambulance quotes and bookings: the booker’s name, phone number and email, the patient’s name, journey locations, dates and times, the reason for the journey, mobility, and any details you choose to give us about oxygen, monitoring, infection risk or other needs. The booking form can also collect a date of birth, NHS number and allergy information when you provide them.

Event and filming enquiries: organiser contact details, event name, type, location, dates, times and the cover you ask for.

Training bookings: the learner’s name, email, phone number, any notes, and payment information collected by Stripe on its own checkout page.

Job applications: your name, contact details, address, work history, qualifications, the role you want, references, and a CV if you upload one. We do not ask for your National Insurance number, date of birth or driving licence number on this first form. We ask for identity, driving licence and criminal record checks only if we offer you a role.

Phone calls: our phones are answered 24 hours a day. We use what you tell us to respond to the call.

Website data: essential cookies described in the cookie policy, and, only if you agree, information collected by Google Analytics, Google Ads and Metricool.

Why we use it, and the lawful basis

To reply to an enquiry, and to take steps you ask for before a contract: UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b) and, for general questions, Article 6(1)(f) legitimate interests.

To assess, plan and provide a journey or event cover, including health information you give us so the crew and vehicle are suitable: Article 6(1)(b), and Article 9(2)(h) (health or social care) for that special-category information. We do not use health information for marketing.

To take payment for training or transport through Stripe, and to keep records we need for tax and accounting: Article 6(1)(b) and Article 6(1)(c).

To consider a job application: Article 6(1)(b) for steps before a contract. Criminal-offence information, if we later ask for it, is collected for employment checks under the conditions in the Data Protection Act 2018, not on the first application form.

To measure the website and our adverts: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) and PECR). You can refuse non-essential cookies and you can change that choice at any time from Cookie settings in the footer.

This website is for planned, non-emergency services. In an emergency, call 999.

Who we share it with

Crew and clinicians who need the information to provide the journey, event cover or training.

A commissioner or NHS body only where the booking is for work they have asked us to do.

Stripe, which processes card, Apple Pay and Klarna payments on its own checkout pages.

Google, for reCAPTCHA on the contact form and, if you consent, for Analytics and Ads.

Metricool, if you consent to analytics cookies.

Our email and hosting providers, so the form can be delivered to Medic 1 and the site can run.

We do not sell personal information.

How long we keep it

We keep information only for as long as we need it to provide the service, answer questions and complaints, and meet legal, clinical, tax and accounting duties. Specific retention periods will be added to this page once Medic 1’s data protection lead confirms them. Unsuccessful recruitment records are not kept longer than we need to deal with the application and any follow-up.

Where information is processed

We are based in Llangefni. Some providers, including Google and Stripe, may process information outside the UK. Where they do, a lawful UK transfer tool such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum is the expected safeguard. Their own privacy notices describe their processing.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how it is used, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. You can ask for information you provided, which we process by automated means on the basis of a contract or consent, to be moved to another service where the right of portability applies.

Email contact@medic1.co.uk or write to us at the Llangefni address above. We may need to confirm who you are before we act on a request.

You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator for data protection: ico.org.uk, or telephone 0303 123 1113. We would like the chance to put things right first.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change, and we will change the date at the top when we do.
