Hospitals people ask us to reach
Liverpool is where a lot of specialist treatment happens for people who live in North Wales, as well as for people who live in the city. The names we are given most often are the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, Aintree University Hospital, Arrowe Park on the Wirral, and Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. A journey might be an admission, a discharge home, or a move between one of those sites and a hospital in North Wales such as Ysbyty Gwynedd or Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.
Medic 1 is private. You book it and you pay for it. It is not the free NHS patient transport service. Ask the hospital if you need NHS transport. If you have been told to make your own arrangements, you can price a private crew here.

The Wirral is a different journey from the city centre
Arrowe Park serves the Wirral: Birkenhead, Wallasey, Heswall, West Kirby and the towns between the Dee and the Mersey. A collection there is not the same job as a collection at the Royal Liverpool, even though both are in Merseyside. Put the actual hospital, or the home address, into the form, and check the postcode it returns.
We also take people to and from homes and care settings across Liverpool and the rest of Merseyside, not only to those four hospitals. For a Clatterbridge appointment where we wait, choose an appointment with waiting time on the form. The first hour is included.
Coming home to North Wales after treatment
The call is often from a family who live in Gwynedd, Anglesey or along the north coast, and whose relative has finished treatment in Liverpool. They want one crew for the whole journey, rather than a car the person cannot get into. Tell us how the person will travel: walking with help, wheelchair, or stretcher, and whether oxygen is needed.
The ambulance is white, with yellow and green Battenburg markings, and the crew wear green uniforms. Coverage is North Wales and throughout the UK, so both ends of the journey are one booking.

Private ambulance prices
Liverpool and the Wirral are far enough from Llangefni that the hourly rate matters more than the minimum. Enter the pickup and the drop-off and the form will price that journey. Do not guess from a neighbouring city.
Private ambulance transport is £115 per hour, with a 3-hour minimum, so journeys start from £345.
The first hour of waiting is included; after that, waiting is charged at £65/hr.
